Privacy & POPIA

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. What we collect

To assess and manage your loan we collect: your name, SA ID number, contact details, employment and income information, bank account details, bank statements, payslips, and your credit profile from registered credit bureaux. We also collect technical data such as your device and usage information when you use the site.

2. Why we use it

We process your information to verify your identity, run credit and affordability assessments, make a lending decision, manage your loan and repayments, prevent fraud, comply with the National Credit Act, FICA and other laws, and to contact you about your account.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only as needed with: registered credit bureaux, our payment provider (PayFast) to process repayments, regulators where the law requires, and trusted service providers who help us run our business under strict confidentiality. We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we protect it

We use technical and organisational measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect your information. Documents you upload are stored securely and accessed only by authorised staff for assessment.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have a relationship with us and thereafter for the periods required by law (for example, the National Credit Act and FICA record-keeping rules), after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. To exercise these rights, contact our information officer below.
